Test - Rosamen Bado Paris

From a very young age, I understood that style would allow me to affirm myself, and even, if need be, to serve as an armour. From then on, clothes became my good-luck charm. It allowed me both to assert my voice and to carve a path in a world that seemed hostile to me.

My eagerness to grow through knowledge drove me to study philosophy. But then, the creative impulse resurfaced. I studied at the Beaux-Arts of Rueil Malmaison before taking a course in style complemented by studies in Visual Merchandising and Interior Architecture. Armed with this educational and artistic baggage, I was hired by Chanel and worked there for several years.

After the birth of my two children, I felt the irrepressible need to explore beauty in all its forms in my own way , to develop my own universe through my clothes.

Rosamen Bado was born in 2019, the year I turned 33.

When Rosamen Bado left Haiti to live in France, she was 33 years old. Her power and courage were tools that enabled her to find her place in a country where she didn’t master the language or the codes.

We lived in the Parisian suburb of L’Hay-les-Roses in tower 16 of the rue Sainte-Colombe. Rosamen, my mother, gave me an insatiable taste for clothes. On weekends, she used take me with her to the second-hand shops of 20th district of Paris.

I used to get lost in those Ali Baba’s caves, exploring everywhere in the hope of finding mysterious treasures.

My first fashion memory? A blue skirt with white polka dots combined with a mustard blouse with a mandarin collar and imitation crocodile santiags, all found in second-hand shops. I was 7 years old, I felt different and… I loved it!

Rosamen Bado is a French brand whose mission is to offer an extraordinary wardrobe, drawing on a variety of multicultural inspirations such as the Renaissance, Buñuel’s films, or the 60s and 70s.

By creating this brand, I am striving for a world where women feel like themselves, safe and invincible in their armours.

Produced in limited editions in Parisian ateliers, the pieces are made with end-of-stock fabrics from clothing and furniture industries.

Rosamen Bado is committed to contributing to a responsible, circular economy, echoing the vintage clothes of my childhood. More informations here.
