The essence of femininity is to absolutely love being a woman. Madonna.

Removable, pie-shovels or retro, collars are an important part of Rosamen Bado’s DNA.

In my last collection, I had fun twisting Claudine’s collar. It often refers to wise little girls and bourgeois ‘pinchy’ women, here it is sacralized in XXL size. It irradiates with its strength in contrast with the softness often associated with femininity.
Many of you loved the VALENTINA blouse, so this piece will be one of our essentials!

For this new collection our XXL collar will be removable to give you more freedom.

It is to Colette, a 20th century writer famous for the Claudine series, that we owe the name of this iconic rounded collar.

A free and liberated personality in the France of the Belle Epoque, Colette did not hesitate to pose in a black dress with a white collar for her novel Claudine à l’école, echoing her heroine.

Claudine is a mischievous and somewhat rebellious schoolgirl. The arrival of a young teacher and a young doctor in her village at her boarding school for a young girl will disrupt her daily life and make her little heart turn upside down.

Below is the Youtube link to a 1937 film based on the novel… for the curious.

It was then re-emerged in the 1950’s before being established as a basic, giving a retro, preppy or “BCBG” accent to a look.
